Melissa Shoes And Campana Brothers Collaborate To Launch SS16 Footwear Collection

Brazilian footwear brand Melissa Shoes has just launched its newest collection of footwear, this time, collaborating with the furniture design duo behind Campana Brothers.
The new Melissa Barroca x Campana collection for SS16 features a line of Melissa's signature plastic flats designed in the avant-garde and baroque style of the Campana Brothers.
Melissa Shoes teamed up with the Brazilian designers, Humberto and Fernando Campana, to create a collection that showcased the designers' maximalist and opulent aesthetic. The Campana Brothers are renown for their sculptural and decadent furniture designs. The brothers' collection of Italian Baroque pieces feature overlapping lines and intricate floral motifs, lending itself to Melissa Shoes's design-minded ethos.
The line of flats, which come in six different colors ranging from black to ballet pink, are made from 30 percent recycled PVC.
Melissa Shoes is a brand that is known for its environmentally conscious production practices. Each pair of shoes can be disassembled and recycled, and the production process leaves almost zero waste.
The Barroca flats retail for $98, with a portion of the proceeds going directly to World Vision, a charity that provides aid and assistance to those in poverty stricken or disaster-torn areas.
To celebrate the new collaboration, Melissa Shoes and the Campanas also launched an accompanying installation called "Barroca: The Harmony of Imperfection." The installation, which has officially launched at the Galeria Melissa in London, is set to run through February 2016.
The new installation displays five furniture pieces from the Campana's Baroque collection, which was the direct inspiration for the Melissa Shoes SS16 collection.
The Italian Baroque-meets-Brazilian-street-life installation is an ideal representation of the footwear collaboration.
To accompany the furniture, the installation space is also covered in wallpaper designed from mesh and incorporates Rococo motifs like seashells, plant tendrils and cherubs.
Melissa Shoes frequently features rotating installations in its Galeria Melissa locations (one being its Manhattan flagship store), where guests can enjoy a varied mix of installations from some of the world's top designers. Previous installation collaborations have included Walt Cassidy, Edson Matsuo and Karl Lagerfeld.
Melissa Shoes also collaborates with fashion designers to create footwear for their seasonal runway collections. Designer Jeremy Scott teamed up with the footwear brand to create a collection of shoes for his NYFW SS16 show last fall.
The new Melissa Barroca x Campana line is now available for purchase at Melissa Galerias and online
