Adidas’s First-Ever Laceless Soccer Shoe Fits Like a Glove.
Without laces, the shoes ensure that the wearer doesn’t have to worry about laces unraveling and tripping them while running in the field. This also makes sure that shoelaces no longer have a chance of getting caught between ball and foot during kicksThe German sportswear company began spurring talk of laceless soccer shoes last year. Through Instagram accounts of the world’s best players, it showed off a blackout prototype of the Ace 16+ and fans of the brand has since been watching.
Locking the foot into the boot is Adidas’ Primeknit technology. Meant to withstand intense ball-kicking, tight and loose knits running along the boot work together to make the shoe fit a lot like a glove sans laces.
Along with the obvious joy this Adidas pair brings forth to people who are embarrassed by the distinct sound of their footwear’s Velcro straps, the footwear is also poised to help world’s top soccer players score more goals.
Mesut Özil and Ivan Rakitic will begin wearing the shoes on the pitch. Adidas’ official announcement reveals that Özil even played a crucial role in building the shoes.
