New Store Opens In Davenport With Exclusive Nike Shoes

A new store in the Quad Cities is debuting an exclusive line of Nike shoes.

The Full Kit opened its doors on Saturday, February 28th, 2015. The men’s clothing and shoe retailer started in Iowa City 14 years ago and now has a second location at 312 Main Street in downtown Davenport.

“When it came time to expand and open a second location, Davenport was the first place we looked,” said Owner, Mitch Dettman, who is from the Quad Cities. “I’d always wanted to open a store where I grew up and what I call home.”

According to a press release, “The Full Kit offers an exclusive selection of hard-to-find shoes and apparel.” One of those pairs of shoes is the custom-designed NikeSB Dunk Low shoe. Dettman says the color scheme is modeled after his store in Iowa City and in remembrance of the 2006 tornado.

“We’ve had a close relationship with NikeSB for more than 10 years and they approached us about doing this special project with them,” he said. “It’s important to tell a story with the materials and the colors of the shoe like we did. We chose the tornado for its defining moment in the shop’s history that we experience.”

The Full Kit is open seven days a week. An official grand opening is planned for late March.
