Creepy thief is stealing shoes right off women’s feet
A thief with a creepy foot fetish has been yanking off the shoes of women at Brooklyn subway stations and then running off with them, according to police sources.
Cops are investigating seven total shoe-grabbing incidents, with two confirmed to be the same suspect— some on the stations’ mezzanine, and others after the turnstiles, sources said.
Without making any conversation, the weirdo approaches women from behind, takes off their shoes, and runs off.
Strangely, investigators have noticed he usually takes a woman’s right shoe– either high-heels or flats.
“It’s possible that this guy has a fetish,” said a law-enforcement source. “I guess if the shoe fits!”
The suspect recently struck at the West 8th Street in Coney Island at 8:18 a.m. Oct. 2– pulling off a woman’s Nike sneaker and taking off while she was trying to walk up the stairs to the Q train at the elevated station.
Another woman had her black Adidas sneaker yanked off on Sept. 11 as she was walking up the stairs to the F train at the West 8th Street station.
“It’s very creepy,” said a source. “I mean, can you picture walking down into the subway to go to work and some wacko steals a shoe from your foot? With all the worries people have about safety, you have to worry about your shoe being taken right off your foot?”
