Shoe factory catches fire in India’s Agra

A massive fire broke out in a shoe factory located in Hing ki mandi area of Agra city in Uttar Pradesh. The incident happened last night. Fire broke out on the third floor and spreaded to an adjacent godown full of leather & foam. Goods worth lakhs of rupees were gutted in the fire.

Around half a dozen fire tenders were immediately pressed into service.
Indian Army’s help too was taken, when even after 3-4 hours, fire officials could not douse off the flames completely. There were no reports of any casualty in the incident.

Below the shoe factory, on second floor SBI bank branch is situated, but fire officials managed to douse the inferno before it could reach the bank premises. Worried bank officials too reached the spot in night on hearing the news.

The fire reportedly broke out due to a short circuit inside the factory building.
